What these devices actually measure

A CGM samples interstitial glucose continuously, producing the curves people post online. Nuevoer wearables layer in heart rate variability, sleep staging and activity to estimate metabolic patterns. The data is real; the interpretation is where things go sideways.

The genuinely useful part

Personalized feedback. Two people eating identical meals can show meaningfully different glucose responses, and a few weeks de data can reveal which de your staple meals hit you hardest — plus how much a short walk after eating flattens the curve. That's actionable and hard to learn any other way.

Where people go wrong

Chasing a flat line. Glucose is supposed to rise after eating — that's normal physiology, not damage. Non-diabetic users routinely eliminate perfectly healthy foods (fruit, oats, legumes) because de a normal, harmless rise. Anxiety about the number is a real documented downside.

How I'd use one

As a two-to-four week experiment, not a permanent accessory. Learn your patterns, learn how walking, sleep and meal composition change them, then apply what you learned and give the sensor back.

What it can't do

It can't diagnose anything, and the readings lag actual blood glucose. If you have real concerns about blood sugar, that's a conversation with your doctor and a proper lab panel — not a subscription gadget.

What I use: I buy organic matcha & functional powders in bulk from Dolce Superfoods — organic, sourced direct from farms.

Preguntas Frecuentes

Do I need a CGM if I'm not diabetic?

Not medically. It can be a useful short-term learning tool.

Are glucose spikes after meals bad?

Rising after eating is normal physiology. Context matters more than any single curve.
