Personal training with Sam, in Morton Grove and online
Personal training with me comes three ways. A one-time custom plan is $149. Monthly online coaching is $199 a month with weekly check-ins and form feedback on your lift videos. In-person sessions at my garage gym in Morton Grove are $68 each, spring through fall. All three start with the same intake and the same coach, and the plan is written for the person actually doing it.
How much does personal training cost?
Online, there are two prices. The Custom Plan is $149 once: a full intake, an eight-week program, a nutrition framework and one revision call after week two. Monthly Coaching is $199 a month, month to month, with weekly check-ins, form feedback on your videos and plan changes as you go. Both are on the coaching page.
In person, a 1-on-1 session in Morton Grove is $68, a 4-pack is $248 and a 12-pack is $698 with the 13th free. A small group is $28 a person. The full price list and how the numbers compare is in how much personal training costs.
Which plan should you choose?
Choose the Custom Plan if you are a self-starter who needs the map and will follow it. Choose Monthly Coaching if you have started and stopped before and want somebody reading your numbers every week. Choose in-person if you are within a short drive of Morton Grove and want the lifts coached in the room.
Most people who stall do not stall on the program. They stall on the week the program met real life. That is what the monthly version is for. I wrote a plain guide to choosing a personal trainer if you are comparing me with anyone else, which you should.
What is coaching with me actually like?
It starts with an intake, not a template. Health history, injuries, equipment, schedule and the food you really eat. From that I write the program, and every exercise on it links to an animated form guide in the library.
Then you train and I watch. Online, that means your lift videos and your check-in numbers each week, with one or two changes at a time. In person, it means me at the rack. Either way the plan changes when your life does, and it never asks you to train through pain.
I have coached more than a thousand people since 2003, most of it on commercial gym floors, and this is what that time teaches: the app does not know your knee. A coach does, if you tell him. This is fitness guidance, not medical advice.
Where does in-person training happen?
At my fully equipped private garage gym studio in Morton Grove, a full free-weight setup, address shared on booking. People come from Skokie, Niles, Glenview, Park Ridge, Lincolnwood, Evanston and Wilmette. In-person personal training and small group training each have their own page.
It is a spring-to-fall offer because the garage is not built for a Chicago winter. When it closes, the same program continues online. Nothing resets.
Is nutrition included?
Yes, in every plan. Real food first, label literacy instead of brands, a protein target you can hit, and no dosing of anything. It is coaching around what you already eat, not a meal plan handed down. The nutrition coaching page explains how it runs.
What is personal training with me not?
Not a thirty-day sprint. Not a plan that promises a number on the scale. Not a place where an injury gets trained through. Not for anyone under eighteen, and not a substitute for a doctor's clearance when there is a health condition in the picture.
What it is: a way of training you can hold onto for decades, built by someone who has been doing it since before it was an app. The alternatives, apps included, are compared honestly in personal training against apps and going it alone.
Questions people ask
Do I need a gym to be coached?
No. Every online plan is built around the equipment you have, from a full commercial gym to a pair of dumbbells and a doorway bar. The intake asks exactly what you own.
How does the application work?
One form, about ten minutes, with a health screen. I read it myself and tell you which plan fits, including when the answer is the free program. Nothing is charged before you are approved.
Can I do in-person and online together?
Yes. Plenty of people train in the garage through the warm months and switch to online coaching for winter. Same program, same check-ins, your numbers carry over.
Can I cancel monthly coaching?
Yes, any time, from the subscription itself. Your monthly rate stays where it started for as long as you stay.
Is there a phone number?
Yes, (847) 387-0244. Call or text with a question before you apply. The application is still the way in, because it asks the things the plan needs.
