Small group training in Morton Grove
Small group training with me costs $28 a person a session at my garage gym in Morton Grove, or $298 a person for a 12-pack. Groups are three or four people, no bigger, and each person is on their own program. You share the space and the coach, not the plan. Bring your own group or ask to join one. It runs spring through fall while the weather allows.
What does small group training cost?
One session is $28 a person. A 12-pack is $298 a person, and when every person in the group buys the 12-pack, the whole group gets the 13th session free. That is the only free session; there is no free trial.
The price is less than half of a 1-on-1 session because the hour is shared. What is not shared is the program. Each of you gets an intake and a plan, and I move between you during the session, watching the set that needs watching.
The longer breakdown is in how much small group training costs and what the price buys.
Is a small group the right choice for you?
It is the right choice when you can already get through a set safely without a coach on your shoulder, and when training beside someone makes you turn up. A spouse, two friends, a couple of coworkers who all want the same Tuesday evening.
It is the wrong choice when you need every rep watched. Someone new to the barbell, or early in a return from injury, does better in 1-on-1 sessions for the first block, then moves into a group once the lifts are grooved.
A class of twenty is a different product altogether. The piece on small group training against classes and 1-on-1 lays out where each one wins.
How do you form a group?
Two ways. Bring your own: three or four people who can make the same slot, each fills in the interest form, and I build each program from each intake. Or ask to join one: tell me your days and your goal, and I will put you with a group that fits when a spot opens.
Groups stay the same people week to week. That is on purpose. The program builds session over session, and so does the habit of showing up because the others expect you. A rotating cast of strangers is a class with a smaller room, and that is a different product. Start on the in-person training page.
What does a group session look like?
Everyone warms up together, then splits to their own main lift. One person squats while another hinges and a third presses. I coach the set that is live, fix one thing at a time, and rotate. Accessories at the end, picked for each person.
The gym is a private garage in Morton Grove with a full free-weight setup. No queue for a rack. No music you did not choose. Every movement on your program has a form guide in the exercise library.
Which towns can make the drive?
Morton Grove first, then Skokie, Niles, Glenview, Park Ridge, Lincolnwood, Evanston and Wilmette. Most are ten to fifteen minutes door to door. The address is not published because the gym is my home; it comes with the booking confirmation.
Sessions run spring through fall. When the cold shuts the garage, online coaching carries each person's program through the winter at $199 a month, and the group can pick up again when the weather lifts.
Questions people ask
Do we all have to be at the same level?
No. Each person has their own program, so a beginner and someone with years under the bar can share a session. What you share is the slot and the coach.
Can two people book instead of three?
A group is three or four. Two people who want to train together can book back-to-back 1-on-1 sessions, or find a third; tell me and I will look for one.
What if someone in my group misses a session?
The rest of the group trains as planned. Packs are per person, so a missed session is that person's to reschedule, and I will do my best to fit them into another slot.
How long does a group stay together?
As long as it works. Most groups buy the 12-pack, train through the season and switch to online coaching for winter. The program carries over either way.
Can I call to ask about a group?
Yes. (847) 387-0244. Or use the interest form on the in-person page and pick Small group; it asks the questions I would ask on the phone.
Bring your group, or join one
