In-person personal training in Morton Grove
In-person personal training with me costs $68 a session at a fully equipped private garage gym studio in Morton Grove, $248 for a 4-pack and $698 for a 12-pack with the 13th session free. One coach, one program written from your intake, every rep watched. It runs while the weather allows, roughly spring through fall, and online coaching carries the same program the rest of the year.
How much does in-person personal training cost?
A single 1-on-1 session is $68. Four sessions are $248 and twelve are $698, and the twelfth pack comes with a free 13th session. There is no free first session and no sign-up fee. You pay for the sessions, and the sessions come with a program.
That last part matters more than the rate. The plan is written from a real intake before you ever pick up a bar: your goals, your injuries, your schedule, the equipment you own at home. Each session adds notes to it. When you walk out, the next one is already shaped.
I wrote a longer piece on what in-person personal training costs and what the price buys, including how the packs compare with paying one session at a time.
Do you want 1-on-1 or a small group?
Pick 1-on-1 when you are new to the main lifts, coming back from an injury a doctor has cleared, or working on one thing that needs every rep watched. It is the fastest way to learn a squat, a hinge and a press properly.
Pick a small group when you already move well enough to work through a set on your own, or when the people you want to train with are the reason you show up. Three or four people, each on their own program, one coach moving between you. It is $28 a person.
If you are not sure, tell me what you want out of training and I will say which one fits. No upsell. The answer is sometimes the free program on the coaching page.
Where is the gym, and who drives in?
The gym is my garage in Morton Grove, a full free-weight setup and nothing else. It is a home, not a storefront, so the address is not published. It comes with your booking confirmation, along with directions.
People drive in from Skokie, Niles, Glenview, Park Ridge, Lincolnwood, Evanston and Wilmette. Most of those are ten to fifteen minutes away. If you are further out and the drive makes sense to you, you are welcome.
Booking runs through the interest form on the in-person training page. Tell me your goal and the days that work. I reply within two days with the address and the first open slots.
What happens in a session?
We talk for two minutes about how the body feels today. Then a warm-up for the lifts on your program, then the main lift coached rep by rep. I watch the bar path, the knee, the brace, and I change one thing at a time.
After that come the accessories, chosen for your weak points rather than lifted from a template. Every movement on your program has an animated form guide in the exercise library, so what you learn here you can check at home.
What about winter?
The garage is not insulated well enough for a Chicago January. In-person sessions run while the weather allows and pause when the cold sets in. That is the honest version and I would rather you hear it before you buy a pack.
Through the winter, online coaching carries the same program at $199 a month. Same intake, same check-ins, and your numbers carry over. Nothing resets when you switch. Late in the season, ask before buying a 12-pack and we will size it to the weeks left.
Who is this for, and who should skip it?
It is for adults who want to learn the lifts with a coach in the room, people who have started and stopped and want somebody expecting them on Tuesday, and anyone coming back from an injury with a doctor's clearance who wants the plan built around it.
It is not for anyone after a fast fix, anyone under eighteen, or a health condition that a doctor has not cleared for training. If you want a class of twenty and loud music, this is the wrong room. This is a journey, not a race.
Questions people ask
Is there a free first session?
No. The free session is the 13th on a 12-pack. Buy the twelve-session 1-on-1 pack for $698 and the 13th is on me.
How often should I come?
Twice a week is the sweet spot for most people. Once a week works if you train on your own between sessions and send me the numbers. Three times a week is for a short block with a deadline, not a way to live.
Do I need my own equipment?
No. The garage has the bar, the plates, the rack and the floor. Bring flat shoes and water. If you also train at home, tell me what you own and the program will use it.
Can I book by phone?
Yes. Call or text (847) 387-0244 and say you found the page. The interest form is faster because it asks the questions I would ask anyway, but a call is fine.
Is the coaching medical advice?
No. It is fitness guidance. Pain that does not settle goes to a professional, and the plan works around an issue, never through it.
Ready to train in the garage?
