Where is the garage from Niles, and how long is the drive?
East, and not far. Oakton Street and Dempster Street both cross from Niles into Morton Grove, and Milwaukee Avenue feeds into either one of them depending on which end of the village you start from. Ten minutes is a fair estimate from Golf Mill.
There is no expressway in it and nothing to pay. Park on the street or on the driveway, walk up, and we start. People coming down from the north end near Touhy usually find Waukegan Road the calmer route.
Because the gym is my home, the street address does not go on the page. The booking confirmation carries it, along with which door to use and where the car goes.
What does it cost?
A single one on one session is $68. Four sessions are $248, twelve are $698, and the twelve pack comes with a free thirteenth. Small group sessions are $28 a person, or $298 a person for twelve.
Nothing is charged before we have spoken. No sign-up fee, no first session free, no membership that keeps billing you after you stop coming. You buy sessions, and the sessions come with a written program.
If in-person is not the piece you need, the plans and prices for the online side sit on the coaching page, and there is a free program there as well.
Who in Niles does this suit?
Niles is a village of people who have owned their houses for a long time, and a lot of the training that matters there is the training that keeps a body useful: carrying things up the stairs, getting off the floor, lifting a grandchild without thinking about it.
It suits shift workers and trades who need a slot at seven in the morning or after four in the afternoon rather than at lunchtime. It suits somebody who lifted properly twenty years ago and wants to be shown what has changed and what has not.
It is not the right room for anyone under eighteen, for anyone chasing a quick result, or for anyone training against a doctor's advice. Say what a doctor has told you and the plan gets built around it.
What actually happens in a session?
Two minutes of talking about how the body feels today, then a warm-up aimed at the lifts on your program. After that the main lift, coached rep by rep, with one thing changed at a time rather than five.
Then accessories picked for your weak points instead of lifted off a template. The notes go straight into your program, so the next session starts from where this one finished.
In a small group of three or four, everybody is on a different program. You share the space and the coach. Nobody is doing your workout at your tempo because it happens to be Wednesday.
Does it run all year?
No, and that is worth knowing before you buy. The garage is not insulated well enough for a Chicago winter, so in-person sessions run roughly spring through fall and stop when the cold arrives.
Online coaching runs through the winter at $199 a month, or $149 once for a custom plan you take away and run yourself. It is the same program and the same intake, so your numbers carry across in both directions. The coaching page has the detail.
Late in the season, ask before you buy twelve. We will size the pack to the weeks left rather than sell you sessions the weather will eat.
How do you get started from Niles?
The form on this page is the fastest route. Goal, days that work, anything a doctor has said. I read them myself and answer within two days with the address and the open slots.
You can also call or text (847) 387-0244. For the full picture of the offer, including what the small group looks like on a busy evening, read the Morton Grove in-person page. To start online instead, the application takes about ten minutes.
Two towns over on either side: Park Ridge to the west, and Glenview up Milwaukee to the north.
Questions from Niles
Where do I park?
On the street outside or on the driveway. It is a residential block, so there is no lot and no permit and nothing to feed. The confirmation email tells you exactly where to put the car and which door to walk to.
Can I get an early morning slot?
Usually. Early mornings and late afternoons are the two blocks that fill first, so ask for the day and the time in the same message. A text to (847) 387-0244 gets an answer faster than the form when the slot matters more than the detail.
I already own some equipment at home. Does that matter?
It helps. Tell me what you have and the program will use it on the days you are not in the garage, so the work you do at home is part of the plan rather than something separate you invented on a Sunday.
Is there an age limit?
Adults only, eighteen and over. That is a firm line and it applies to the small group as well as to one on one.
What should I bring?
Flat shoes and water. That is the list. There is no locker room, so come dressed to train, and leave the gym bag of accessories at home because the bar and the plates cover it.
Tell me what you need
No booking yet, no payment. I read every note myself and reply within two days with the address and the first open slots.
